Author Appearances
As an author-presenter, Justyn Walker has spoken in more than 150 schools and public libraries around Australia and has appeared on Channel 7's Saturday Disney and Foxtel's The Disney Channel.
Justyn can visit your school to give a presentation or conduct a workshop with the students, giving them the opportunity to meet and learn from a real Aussie author.
Justyn's workshops can vary depending on the age of the students and the class size. His sessions typically involve story reading, lessons in creative writing, creation of characters, the book-making process and inspiring stories of how he became an author. The sessions are relevant and fun, engaging students and encouraging them to participate and ask questions. Justyn encourages reluctant readers to read books in a fun and easy way and gives tips to budding new writers.
Justyn's standard appearance fee is $300 for up to 2 sessions of 45 mins each. Sessions typically cater to years 4-7, with between 30-60 students per session. You will receive complimentary promotional material and students will have the opportunity to purchase autographed books on the day.
In some cases concessions apply. Contact the author for more information.

Writing Workshops
When Justyn runs special writing workshops for smaller classes (up to 25 students) he teaches the students a simple method of coming up with a Character Profile. There have been some very imaginative results! Two favourites come from students at Gosford Public School in NSW.
Mr Squiggles
A villainous hairy French worm who plots to take over the world by digging holes beneath famous landmarks and holding them to ransom until control of the world is turned over to him and his army of worms!
Sir Quacksalot
A rubber duck with a squeaky, evil laugh, who plots to block up all the drainpipes and flood the world with water, so the rubber ducks will rule!
*Writing workshops can be arranged on request.
